Squashes...I think I am hearing this word after ages.I ddont think so that we get anything like that here in the US.
MY dadi ammi (may her soul rest in peace) used to make squashes at home.It has to be one of my distant childhood memories.She alongwith other aunties etc would gather and juice like a million oranges with that ancient looking juicer thingie and then make the squash (I dont know how ) nad then my favorite part was when they poured it into sterilized bottles (kids were told to stay outta the kitchen...:p) and then they used to put corks on the bottles and then dip those ends in hot wax to seal them.They let the bottles rest for some time and then the million bottles were distributed amongst the entire neighborhood and family...
(Ok,I am exaggerating when I say 'million',but they were still a lot.My dadi used to love cooking on huge scales and distributing it amongst everyone...God bless her..!!)
