I finally got rid of my near and dear phone Toshiba VM4050 and bought myself a Nokia 6682 and switched to T-Mobile. I ported the number over too. I can use the new phone to make the calls but the calls made to it are still directed to my old sprint pcs phone. Is this normal? and how long does the “complete” transfer usually take?
P.S. I just did the switch couple of hours ago.

Think of this as the DNS switch, outgoing the TMo account is active so it can dial out, but the rest of the world hasn't yet received the info. Let the DNS propogate :)

I can use the phone to make and recieve the calls, finally.
I am now trying to login to my account on T-Mo's site. It had me register first. Once I registered, it said it had sent me a temporary password on my handset. However I didn't recieve anything. I have tried many times since then and it keeps saying that the password has been sent but I am not receiving anything. Has anyone experienced that?
P.S. I am receiving other text messages., just not the temporary password from their site for online account access.
