So is it a ritual in your home and all of you take a day out to do it? Or you don’t really care? And if you do, what is spring cleaning for you?
Re: Spring Cleaning
We keep it cleaned all year round. ![]()
Re: Spring Cleaning
Spring cleaning means bringing out lighter linens, different decor, changing curtains, changing up the dishware..like the bright colored stuff for bbq's. Making the scent in your house a little more fresh then comforting and warm. I think I learned the tradition from my mom which is to have spring cleaning during Easter weekend.
Re: Spring Cleaning
Yes, I take a day to do it.
i personally try to do seasonal cleaning (not just spring). I find that the dishes build up enough in the three months that the only alternative to spring cleaning is to buy more dishes. Sometimes I just do the latter, but thats not what we're talking about.
Re: Spring Cleaning
cleaning windows, doors, walls.......detailed cleaning by moving out furniture from its place. changing curtains, cushion overs, bed spread etc. detailed cleaning of kitchen coupbords.
Re: Spring Cleaning
^Thats my spring cleaning too! Takes more than a day...washing walls and all the curtains and windows...huge project. Not quite ready to face it yet lol...spent half of yesterday shoveling a foot of snow out of the driveway :(

That is secret to a peaceful , nag free and happily married life. :D
Re: Spring Cleaning
I spend about a week, washing or drycleaning all of the curtains and drapes, washing the walls, washing all of the cabinets and woodwork, waxing the wood furniture, washing the top of the fridge and those other places we don't think about every day, changing cushion covers, washing windows, etc.
It's almost time to get started again
Re: Spring Cleaning
Spring cleaning for me isn't really cleaning because the house gets clean every weekend.
It's more of tossing and recyling things that have accumlated within the year that we don't need anymore.
Re: Spring Cleaning
...what about washing walls and windows? cleaning (I mean sparkly-cleaning) the oven? The curtains? Winter quilts? These arent things that most people get to during their weekly cleaning yeah? I try to do these things twice a year, once in spring and once in fall. No way could I manage these tasks more often than that.

okay it might sound like a silly questions, but ignore my ignorance.... I bought a house few months ago and have no idea what is wall washing? you mean the inside walls or outside? and how do you do that?
