Re: Spouse of a Book Loving Person?
I read at bedtime, after my kids AND husband are all in bed. I also only read on weekdays and spend weekend nights spending quality time with my husband :) My husband doesn't mind me reading at all, he encourages it! He'll even randomly buy me books I've been wanting ;) Alhamdulilah for an understanding and supportive spouse.
Re: Spouse of a Book Loving Person?
I'm a bookworm, I absolutely love reading as a pass time and my husband cannot even get through an article at times lol.
But he likes my nerdy side and usually I read just before going to bed. I'll be reading beside him, while he's either browsing the web on his tablet or chatting with colleagues.
It doesn't seem to bother him because I don't neglect my duties to just sit down and get lost in a book. Usually when I have down time (if any) I grab a book and relax.

so far so, we are hearing comments from book loving ladies and their co-operative spouses. Still waiting response from male book lovers.

Well, I don't know if this counts but my husband reads quite a bit too and it usually isn't an issue. If he's reading and wants to be left alone, he usually says so (i.e. "I'll be over here if you need anything"). Even when he doesn't say so, I can tell when he wants to be left alone while reading and don't view it as ignoring.

But you yourself are into books. What about if wife is not into books?
