But do you think all couples are automatically that understanding? or you just have to discuss this with your spouse till they get used to it.

After interacting and living with someone for a bit, you get a good idea of what they are like and their personality and get used to it. If one spouse is very into reading, the other spouse will eventually figure it out and reach the conclusion that their spouse simply likes their reading time and isn’t ignoring them.
