Ladies help me out here… its a dumb question… but what exactly is spotting? I’ve heard the word many times but not exactly sure what it looks like/feels like..

its what u get hte first or last day of ur period…but it occurrs at a time when its not sposed to ahppen :aq:

I think what Sara means is that it seems like what you get in the first and last day of you period (very light spot-like bleeding) but it occurs at a time when you are not expecting your period.

it's not a full fledged period. just few "spots". usually happens when you're not supposed to be getting your period.

^ It also happens as implantation bleeding, sometimes, when an egg implants itself into the walls of the uterus.
It can also happen after an internal exam during the last few weeks of pregnancy.

And it is very annoying. You also get spotting when you stop taking the pill and your body is re-adjusting to normal cycle.
