so, i’ll just start, without making the post long i am trying to conceive since last year, i missed my period for last two months, and then this month (September) right from the beginning i’ve had spotting, everyday… and in between i had 2-3 days of heavy discharge which i assumed as periods ( i dont know). My doctor prescribed me progesterone, which i am taking nowadays. and no, i am not pregnant. I have a few questions, if anyone could please answer
I’ve not been saying prayers since spotting started ( because i thought it was periods and then it was not confused so, now i want to know, what should i do? should i just take a bath and consider spotting as a “disease” and say my prayers normally?
In days of prolonged spotting, having intercourse is permissible or not, i mean islamically?
is this normal? because my doctor didnt take it seriously :S this never happened before, though i’ve always had irregular cycles.
ofcourse, one you had your periods, you were no more pregnant.. but i think you were!! you didnt think like having a pregnancy test when you missed your periods??
You can miss your periods due to many reasons.....ovarian cysts can delay periods and cause irregular spotting. Also hormone levels if are not normal can delay or cause absence of periods. So pregnancy is not the only cause of missing periods. Have you got your hormone levels checked for PCOS or thyroid? as you say that you have this problem of irregular periods and you are also TTC, so its better to get everything sort out as these issues need treatment and can be a hindrance in conceiving. i did the test :) it was negative, doctor confirmed
when you did the test?? during missing periods or after spotting?? was it the blood test?? sometimes urine test gives the negative result even you are pregnant!!
yes it was a urine test,when i missed periods.... before spotting
firstly, you can get pregnant with periods.
2ndly, only blood test can confirm pregnancy 100%.
I am also TTC, and had delayed period-normally my periods are never late and i can predict. also i had pregnancy symptoms.
urine test all were negative and my doctor asked me to get blood test done, nt once but twice.
I am not pregnant and my blood test were negative as well. with my first, i got two urine test done and only one showed me as pregnant.
i need to know the questions related to prayers (religiously) and intercourse (medically as well as religiously) while having spotting whole month.......
From what I have heard, if you have your period (or spotting) for more than 10 days, then you can resume your regular prayers, but you have to perform wudu before every prayer (instead of keeping wudu for 2 prayers).
About the intercourse question, I have HEARD, but I have no confirmation or anything to back me up, again after the 10 days, you can have intercourse, but your husband must use a condom. And apparently this sort of thing is normal, it has happened to my cousin, and the doctor dismissed it, and told her "if she wants" she can take birth control to handle it, otherwise just deal with it. She is also trying to conceive, and has a hormonal problem, so it may be linked to that.
