Re: spontaneous travel...
many times, over a cup of tea when there was no plan to go anywhere. most of those trips are either 1 whole day trip or max 3 days...
and those trips are among the most enjoyed and cherishable ones

Once went to the Bahamas for four days, decided to go the night before.
Re: spontaneous travel...
Most of my trips are un planned. Not exactly you get up and go but its like I cant sleep...and call friends for GTG and plan to go somewhere for few days escape. and its really fun...travelling is always fun :@:
Re: spontaneous travel...
yes but back in the college days.
Re: spontaneous travel...
Yes.
But being desi and female means spontaneity usually has a limit. So it's not a matter of just getting the idea and zooming off to the airport. It's a matter of getting the idea, explaining it to chief family member, waiting until chief family member discusses it with assistant chief.
Then having to take phonecalls from rest of family/friends/neighbours/the little old lady who lives down the road; all of whom have somehow found out about the trip even though you only had the idea fifteen minutes ago. So after you are finally done with their enquiries, and promises of presents/photos have been made, the magic of the moment has been lost and you think sod it, I'll just sit at home and watch Eastenders.

+1
And even if you do go after all, along tags the chhoti behen.
I usually don't even get to this point of explaining the matter to the chief because when you are a desi girl and have desi girl friends, most of them are not even into this kind of thing because all their life they've learned to be 'proper'. I have yet to meet a desi girl who will be up for such spontaneity even though nothing 'wrong' is going to happen.
Re: spontaneous travel…
