Re: SPOILERS of DRAMAS based on novels

Just to spoil the spoilers :)

Can anyone
Pls explain to me why Khirad doesn't bother to tell Asher about what happened and how she was kicked out? How does Asher eventually figure this out? I heard it is developed better in the novel than it is in the drama? Why doesn't Asher ever confront her about why she left with another man while she was pregnant? How does he figure out that hareemnis his child other than the reports? This has been bothering me

Re: SPOILERS of DRAMAS based on novels

Not one bit! the novel is a cliched piece of crap full of stereotypes portraying independent, working women like Fareeda as inherently cold and evil and never letting any chance slip by of rubbing their westernization and independence in the reader's face as totally undesirable. Plus the story is weak, there are no original dialogues and the characters are all one note. I would give the drama credit ironing out some of these glaring flaws by giving a backdrop to Farida's actions (Baseerat threatening to divorce her) and not because she is inherently evil (westernized, liberated etc etc). Hats off to writers like Farhat Ishtiaq (and a lot of the Khawateen Diagest brigade) for being the perfect mouthpieces of primitiveg patriarchal values and ensuring that the women of Pakistan remain in the 17th century for a long, long time to come.

Re: SPOILERS of DRAMAS based on novels

Re: SPOILERS of DRAMAS based on novels

Re: Maat-e-Jaan - if anyone was able to get past the very boring architectural stuff in first 40+ pages, do let us know how Ibaad dies and what the conflict is between him and his parents. I think Ibaad has cancer more than likely. Not sure why his parents were upset with him though....

Re: SPOILERS of DRAMAS based on novels

I will admit, I read it, and man that architectural crap was too much so I skimmed over it.
Ibaad's father is this handsome educated character who successfully runs a construction firm, he's the perfect father in every sense, and yet when Ibaad tells him that he's found a girl in america who he's interested in, the cliche happens. Same opened minded father is outraged, becomes hitler dad and cuts off all ties with him. Mum is your typical desi mom, who can't convince her husband otherwise, and sulks in her son's judaai. Ibaad's dad had actually fixed him up with his taya-zad cousin who lives in dubai hence his extreme reaction when his farma-bardaar son finds a girl on his own, how dare he? Ibaad dies in a car accident in dubai.

The highlight of the story was....obviously the romance between Hania & Ibaad.
