You can oil your hair a couple times a week. I prefer olive oil. Use what works for you. Apply to the scalp to the ends of your hair. Massage and wash after an hour or two. I've noticed that often times split ends result because we're not careful during the combing and washing process.
Don't wash your hair with hot water as it has the potential to damage the cuticle of the hair. Use warm water instead. Toward the end, give your hair a blast of cold water. Cold water seals the cuticles of your hair and gives them a shine. I've also read that it's best to use a wide-tooth comb for your hair. Running a narrow tooth comb has greater chances of splitting hair. Don't brush hair when wet, use wide tooth comb when it's damp.
Also,** before** shampooing your hair, brush/comb it to remove tangles. That way, you'll have fewer tangles during shampooing. And some people, while shampooing, take their bottom hair and roll it up to the top of their head......this has the potential to create tangles. The more tangles you have, them more pulling and tugging you'll do when you comb your hair. So, try to keep it with few tangles as possible.
Apart from that, weather plays a role. Winter can make hair dry and prone to breaking. Lack of certain vitamins/minerals can also result in dry brittle hair. Drinking plenty of water keeps hair elastic.
O thanku ladies…wat a help
will surely try these things out…
and another thing that came to my mind while reading farahz post is that i had also heard that conditioner shud not b applied to scalp as it makes the roots weak resulting in hair breakage…but i was browsing the net the other day to find the solution to dandruf problem wen i came across the statement that after shampooing apply conditioner to the scalp to mosturize it…n it wasnt just on one site…i read it at many places…so guppies wat do u say???
Re: Split Ends!!!
hey muzna apply this mixture once a week.
Modern hair conditioners are made up of many different types of ingredients, and manufacturers take different approaches to solve the problems associated with hair conditioning. Ultimately it all comes down to individual needs and body chemistry. What works well for one person may be completely useless to another. Get to know your body and what works for you.
Conditioner can make your hair feel so soft and clean. It can moisturize your hair and make it shiny and healthy looking. But if you have thin hair or hair that is fly away you may want to only put conditioner on the bottom of your hair If you put conditioner on the top of your hair after just one day it will start to look oily and dirty like you have not washed it for days. Conditioner can sometimes make thin pieces of hair up around your face and on top of your head look oily. The natural oils from your scalp and conditioner do not go good together making your hair look oily in no time at all. When putting conditioner from the middle of your hair to the bottom of your hair it will make your hair look shiny and clean. All of your hair but the top can have advantages from using conditioner.
Its not advisable to apply conditioner over the scalp because it might cause dandruff problems for few people and it happend to me.conditioner is to make your hair soft and shiny so apply where the hair is dry.
i hope it helps :)
