Why would she put HERSELF through a divorce? How will she find the means to support herself and her family? She knows how much of a stigma divorce is for women in Desi culture. It’s easier for her to imagine another woman going through it instead of her. Human nature is selfish. But we do have the ability to snap out of our idiotic thinking. In her case, apart from the selfishness and jahalat, she also seems to lack a conscience. Hopefully the realization will kick in before she incurs some real serious damage to others and herself.
