For those that had a c-section, was it spinal/epidural or general anesthesia?
How was the experience with the spinal??
Were you freaked out being awake while they cut you open or were you ok?
Specifically what was your experience with the needle poked into your spine? Was it painful?
How painful? Lol I believe as of now my delivery is suppised to be spinal, just being childishly nervous!
I had 2 previous csections but both were general. Any insight with this is appreciated.
I had a C section (emergency) and it was under spinal anesthesia. At that point I was scared that I will feel the first incision and I recall I kept waiting to feel the surgical instrument. But that never happened,obviously..!I had a drape in front of my face and never saw anything (the field of the surgery) and even my husband who was sitting next to me wasn’t able to look at anything. It worked perfectly.
The needle going in the spine..well it is just like a brief pinch and yes is a lil more painful than anyone would like it to be,lol…does not last long at all and is over pretty soon.So I would say it is amongst the lesser painful things that go into childbirth.
I did not have any complications post partum,Alhumdullilah and if I ever need to get another C section,I would like to go with the same anesthesia option.
Do not worry a lot about it.You will be fine,iA.All the best…!
