Hi,
I know spiders are very sacred in islam - but i really hate them and often end up killing them. i feel really terrible after, but wat shud i do? any advice pls?

Yea sumtimez I do that, but other times if i cant and it reallly irritates me i have to kill it before it runs off under the bed. but its gunnah to kill it isnt it? i feel so bad.

i dunno if it's gunah exactly. you'll have to consult someone more knowledgeable...like a sahaba :( but i mean if you're phobic or something not like you can help it right

u knw i did something so so so cruel the other day. i was praying Maghrib namaz and beside me a spider came and i jumped. i was petrified, and i got up from prayer and slammed the spider. i cudnt sleep that night due to the sin i commited.

awwww! pk lol i've heard that gunah story thing too, but like i said i'm not sure how much truth there is to it. i know at hajj you're not supposed to kill any keera, but what if it bites you or something :( (i mean not when you're at hajj ofcourse)

thats not really funny. its a belief some muslims hold, other muslims dont. but u shouldnt disrespect this or any belief. sorry if im rude, i dont mean to be. im just stating my opinion.
by the way its not just the spider, its the web and also birds nests including birds that saved mohammed s.a.w.

first of all where on earth do u live where you have so many spiders crawling everywhere ..even if you chuck one out another one comes from under teh bed 
best thing for it is .. just pick em up and throw em out side the houseeee!! not the room.. and if there are so many then move to another place ..
and yes..we muslims do beleive that on the night of hijrat .. a spider of one kind .. made a web in from of the cave in which the Prophet SAW and Abu Bakr RA rested and a pigeon made a nest at teh opening of the cave .. this was onhukm/order of Allah Almighty to the spider and the pigeon .. to do so ..to show the enemy that no one had entered the cave ..and if anyone had .. the web and the nest would have been destroyed .. it was a camouflage for the Prophet SAW so the enemy was mislead..

Heres my understanding of the matter.
Our beloved Prophet may peace and grace of Allah be upon him spent a night in a cave in the Hijaz deserts south of Makkahtul Mukarama.
The spider which helped save Rasool Allahs life was a web spinning spider and most probably a desert equivalent to a large “money spider” which is believed to be sacred in many cultures hence it’s lucrative English name.
However Tarrantulas and the such likes as Camel Spiders and scorpions do not spin webs and are therefore not of the same type… often these spiders are poisonous and i admit openly to killing these dangerous pests.
Allah knows best but i advise you to take great care… depending on where you are in the world your spider infestation may or may not be good. I live in th UK and even here we have spiders come around often in houses… i ussually never mind them even the web spinners whom i find often decorating my car and motorcycle.
I would not advise killing them unless you seriously cannot stand them.
I am scarred of larger spiders too in fact i have yet to see a man stand his ground when faced by a camel spider fully grown and fangs barred.
All spiders are poisonous but not all can kill so the little ones should be spared… but if its a dangerous one like the Tarrantulas and scorpions and camelbacks we have back home in Pakistan then to save yourself and others feel free to kill without hesitation.
what about roaches???

I can't stand spiders or any insects....freaks me out..BUT the spiders take the cake...When I was a kid if I saw a spider in the bathroom..I would not go any where near it till some made sure it was out of the HOUSE!!! Even now..while trying to kill them I scream and jump about like a looney...The only ones I spare are the teeny tiny ones...

i live in uk. and its not that there are so many spiders crawling from under the bed. the point im trying to make is that i feel really bad for killing them, sumtimes i just get rid of them outside, but sometimes i kill them. and that is cruel when i remember that they saved our prophet. thats all. thanks anyway.

due to my work am these days in a remote town and once a hand palm size spider get in my room and hide behind my room AC, all one week she make me scared with hide and seek game:chupki: I heard a lot of poisns spiders too, well treat them as per conditions.

^ All life is sacred... but sometimes things get muddled hence why it seems that way.
And it seems your not fammiliar with the Hadith relatin gto the events during Hijrah Migration of Rasool Allah from Makkah to Medina.

which hadith...please share. i know about incident at cave thaur where a spider spun a web by Allah's order...but where does it say that spiders are sacred? ofcourse we should not go hunting for ants and spiders to kill but if they are causing nusiance in homes they should be killed....
share the hadith that u mentioned plz. may be i am wrong.

Anything that was blessed by an Ambiyah is sacred.
If that makes sense so therfore all web spinning harmless spiders should be treated as sacred, not that they shgould be worshipped or anything but they are special and deserve to be respected... many will be horrified by the amount of cobwebs in my garage but i do not mind them at all and as someone mentioned spider silk is awesome.
It is by far the finest and best silk.
Back to the argument i would say even the Wolf and Gadha of the Prophet should be considered sacred becuase how ironic it will be on jugement day when they cross sirat with no hindrance and the grand Muftee topples becuase of his corrupt ways.
Allah guide us all to the correct path.
