Ok so my house for some reason is full of em..not tiny ones..but the big thick 8 legged ones!
I think its due to the fact that we are surrounded by greenery…now that summer is very near they seem to be appearing more often and freaking me out..
how to get rid of em?
I have heard conkers deter spiders, is that true?? Does anyone know why?
Ive also heard of these things you plug in and the spiders run away due to the vibrating noise (only spiders can hear them apparently), but have heard these dont work so well…whereas conkers do…
anyone have any other suggestions?
Btw my house is always very clean, so dirt is not one of the reasons
someone mentioned a pest control device here a long time ago. you plug it into your house and you won't see a bug/insect ever again. if you do a search on google, you'll find it.
Here is a great article on those sonic devices and other ways to handle pests. We had a problem with a mouse family a while back and the sonic device didnt work…glue traps did though. Funny story…my kitty cat got a whiff of mice I guess coming from behind out huge dog food container. I had 4 glue traps back there…kitty got them stuck on his feet!!! He totally freaked out and was hysterically flapping around the house - the traps were pretty big so it was like when people try to walk in swim fins. We were SO mean to laugh but it was just beyond our control it was so funny. We did finally get the traps off him with olive oil. Boy was kitty mad at us!!
Ive ordered a spray which has chestnut extracts in it, apparently spiders hate the smell so dont come in the area.....i have cracks in the bathroom...but cant fix it until we refurbish it...
the house we have bought...they had a garage which has been fully renovated into a second reception room and its built nicely..but most of the time while your sitting there..suddenly a massive 8 legged spider comes running from behind the sofas...it always freaks me out....wonder if these stickies are a good idea for that room..

those electric noise makers... do they stop ants? I get ants in the summer... and my house is new built in 2004. I have no idea why, we painted before we moved in.... i dont know how are why, or where they are comming from.
i was told the noise maker doesnt work because ants dont have ears LOL!!
I got married in Aug, so when I moved in summer was nearly over so only saw the odd few.....and during winter it was quite good as there were hardly any...but now that its got a bit warm..i saw 2 in the bathroom to which i screamed and hubby got rid of em..after that havent seen any....Its ok downstairs in the house...mainly see them in the renovated garage room or then in bathroom...
fingers crossed I dont see too many once I use the spray... !
