I need to keep account of my spending. Recently I have been on shopping sprees and didn’t find the time to note down what I spent and how muh and minor little expenses added up and now I am sad about how much I have spent. I want to know, how do you record your budgeting? Is it on a daily basis? Or weekly? Can you share spreadsheets?

Well, most of us in the west use debit cards and online banking. When you use your debit card, the purchase is automatically deducted from your checking/savings account and then that is reflected on your online bank statement. I rarely use cash for anything..have no need to.
I check my bank accounts daily, or at least every 2 days or so..also have my bank app on my phone.

Phone apps are very convenient and online banking has made things so much easier as well.

Although, I have things set up where a certain amount goes into three different accounts. Two are savings and one is personal. The one that is personal is meant to cover all my commuting, fun, shopping, eating out, etc. I have a debit card for that account but not the others so I don’t get tempted to spend that money.

Online banking all the way, your full history is there, you can access it whenever you want.

Download your bank/credit card statement in Excel and then label the spending and use filters or pivot tables to analyse your spending! It wont take long!
Are you trying to figure out how much you are spending, or are you trying to follow a set budget?

Keep an eye on all your financials for 2 weeks or 1 month. At the end of that time you should sit down and make a clear cut budget like how much should be spend on food, clothes etc. Like someone else mentioned, I also have an app on my phone and normally only use my credit card. I have 3 different accounts - salary, shopping and savings. If you’re into online banking you can pre-set a regular transfer from one account to another. Eg. I transfer 75 % of my salary to our mutual savings and rest into shopping each month ;). My husband also has 3 joint accounts and transfers around 20-25 % into our savings and rest are spend on household (bills, food etc.)

U all mention hw do u divide the money? Bt hw do u use it? Mean i hv seen many couples sum spend on eatables like at hme or mostly dining out.
Sum on shopping , and sum on savings much i would say too much and they say once in a month or 2 month is enough. And for dressing like if i talk abut school uniform then 2 r enough. Wash daily and use next day. Even they hv gud salary.
