we live in a very mechanistic world & that does take away time from families, to be together, and engage with the non- mechanized, natural world.
hopefully, we all know that it is so important for proper physical and psychological development of children, to feel that they are a part of a family, that both their mother and father are present and spend memorable & fun time with the kids.
so, how often u or ur spouse, insist on each other, to take kids out to walk in the surroundings, a natural park, or even be out in the back yards, playing frisbee, planting flowers, or go for a walk around the block.
3- 6 years old feel so joyful when they know that they can take their steps on the sidewalk, as their parents look after them.
it allows for the young to see the world, and also learn the importance of being outside the house, & learn to walk (hoping, they listen to mom & dad, not be too loud on the street, nor trespass someone’s property or fall off a bicycle too many times & certainly not dare the traffic) carefully.
Share any cute stories of you children or nieces & nephews or siblings, that age.
I play with my son daily, after he gets up in the evening, we play football/cricket or we do some gardening. On weekends we go out somewhere, but usually on weekends, its the grand parents, Naana and Daada who take them out, coz they say, weekend is their day to spend with kids.
thanks folks, for your shared comments...seems like no one else is interested in this topic or some how don't have families or don't feel like sharing :>
a huge single space, i guess.
if prospective moms and dads-to-be would like to share, their thoughts on this - welcome.
When my daughter was a baby until 6 years my parents had a house with beautiful garden and she would spend all day there. She would hide in the mango tree and absolutely refuse to come inside. We had to spend all our quality time with her there. Playing outside in the fresh air is soooo healthy for the whole family. Now with my 2nd daughter, my hubby takes her for long walks in and around our house compound. Thay have bonded so well. He didnt spend as much time with our first daughter and I can see the difference. Now my elder daughter is so proficient in roller skating and loves to take her bike out on the roads only when I am going out for a walk with the little one. She is more confident when I am around.
