How do you guys do it?
With all this technolgoy around us and so many distractions…any tips and ideas? to make the most of our time with our families?
I need to know!!

we isolate ourselves from technology.....
go back to nature.....have a picnic in the park
go to the lake shore and feed the ducks/geese/seagulls
go to the beach and build a sandcastle
go to the ranch and ride horses
go for a road trip and make memories
get on our bikes and ride
even something as insignificant as washing the car in the driveway can be a fun activity........

So far this summer, we have been doing 3 things... ride bikes in the park, playground and play in the sprinkler when the lawn is getting watered....

Like Muzna said, isolate yourself from technology. Put the mobiles away.
Since it’s summer we’ve been spending a lot of time outside the house.
- Going to the park with the kids
- Long walks with the kids
- Have been to the Zoo a few times now
- Bike riding.
- BBQ on the beach :k:

Other than vacations, I don't like "planned" activities. I like to be random. We hang out with each other, sometimes just me and one kid, sometimes all 4 of us depending on the situation. I could be cooking and one of my kids would come to me and ask if she could help. That, according to me, is quality time spent together. We chat as we go along and have a good time together. Or we could sit together and learn a new app. Yes, technology isn't all bad. It can be productive if you can prioritize. Or if it's a nice day out, take a walk outside or ride bikes. It could also be laying next to each other and talking about rubbish.
Quality time according to me is time spent with each other that is meaningful and makes you feel happy inside.

"creating" in the kitchen is another great way to connect with family.
cake decorating sometimes turns into a family event with the three of us......

Camping is the most amazing bonding experience, we go to campsites where they don’t have electric hookups, making fires at night, cuddling up to stay warm, taking them to the bathroom with flash light, going hiking and swimming in lakes. Also sports activities you get to chat a lot while driving them to their practice, I always bribe the girl by taking her to some fast food place on the way back, after running for 90 minutes she deserves a snack.

Eh? Technology isn’t all bad. My dad and I watch old pakistani ghazals or 70’s bollywood songs on youtube. Dad knows so much about desi actors/director/singer and either we end up googling where the person is at now (dead/alive, married/happy? etc) or mom and dad end up reminiscing about their youth and what the song/movie reminds them of.
With mom, I usually end up helping her in the kitchen or we watch a pakistani drama together. Oh, I also show her random stuff on facebook. It’s so much fun 
Summer activities include evening walk in the park near our house, bbq in the backyard, a day at the beach, or wonderland (my mom loves rollercoasters). Winters are a little tough for outdoors but we try to make time for each other … like go grocery shopping together, go to the mall, or just eat out once in awhile.
Alslo, agree with Muzna. Quality > quantity.
