Re: Spend vs save

OMG Ms Sara. Its a MUST although it can be an expensive habit lol! The BEST is Smith & Wollensky, around 47th and lex....yum! They bring you a steak fit for Fred Flintstone, on a turkey platter. I polished my plate lol!!! It was a dinner I'll never forget, it was a business dinner, I was the only gal and I guess the guys kinda took it all for granted. I was the only one who finished all my steak...then asked so whats for dessert?

A less expensive alternative is Outback, they really do lovely steaks, good prices and very friendly to my 3 littles.

Re: Spend vs save

Mama, the most xpensive dinner i went to was ahmmm afghani, on 28th n lex, that was almost 40 for two ppl..:bummer:

Re: Spend vs save

^ Oh, I hear you MO3 - give me a steak anyday! And good cheese. The weirdest thing is, I was dying for a decent brie when I was in Pakistan.

I am a umm "healthy eater", and will happily finish off any properly cooked steak placed before me. The only problem is that the Pakistani butcher here can't cut a proper steak to save his life. I just want to take over the poor man's shop and show him how it's done.

Re: Spend vs save

i spend on healthy food but i am hoping its an investment in the long term. for clothes i splurge on shoes/coats and bags and sometimes jeans but i buy cheaper tops. i dont think twice about spending money on or with people that are important to me but i dont spend on random people.
it used to be really hard for me to save money because i used to spend so much on stupid stuff i didnt really need like random items i just kinda picked up at a store or something. it added up. i try to be cautious now. my personal rule is to look at the item for quite some time and think about if i REALLY need it and then just leave it at the store and go home. if i dont miss it like crazy then ill be proud of myself that i didnt succumb to the pressure
