my brother got pulled over this weekend in Bellville on his way home from Mtl (to Toronto) for speeding… he was going 140, the limit on the highway was 100. Its his first time being pulled over…he’s 25. I’m not too worried abt the $175 ticket…but i think he’ll lose like 3 points. does anyone have any advise on how to avoid loosing points in a situation like this?..
take it to court, if the cop was using a hand gun (speed gun) then he'll get outta of quickly, but take it to court, cop might not even show up.
i did downtown T.O to downtown MT, with 2 15 min breaks in 4 hours. :p
haha when was this?
i gotta tell u fun story while we're at it.
going from MTL to T.O and half way there a cop is coming from behind, so we think he's gonna follow the next exit...but NO!!! he was right up ahead of us all the way to our destination! lol
well usually i find couple of other speeders and we just all get in line and keep an eye on all the underpasses. its a good road, so 160 180 all the way, :D

racing on the 401 is really fun, really amusing
especially when u find some from the p.e.i/nb/ns regions haha they are always fun to deal with
Talk to the people who will prepare you before the judge arrives (in the court i.e if you will go to attend the hearing) about not wanting to loose the points. I think they will adivse you to plead guilty and will reudce the fine as well as the remove the points so there will be no points cut. one of my friend had the same problem, she went to the court for hearing she had to plead guilty in order to save her points (3 points for speeding over 15km)
I’ve had good experience with POINTTS (http://www.pointts.com/). I engaged them on two different occassions - they charge something like $250 and you typically don’t have to pay your ticket. I didn’t lose any points either time. You also don’t have to show up for the hearing.
They’ll prolly ask you for the name of the constable who wrote the ticket… something tells me their legal reps have some sort of an arrangement with the OPP traffic cops
You are right. OPP brotherhood collects the fine for their brotherhood fund and the cop does not show up. You pay equivalent of fine but no demerit points.
