I have had two in all these years. One for speeding and another for running a red light. And I am soooo glad that I got that one cause I was tooooo far away from the intersection when the light turned yellow and I decided to speed up and try to make it. Taught me a good lesson. :D
well, i haven't had any recently, Thank GOD! but back in day i was known for getting the most tickets for crossing red light (u know when they send you the pic when u r crossing the red light)..my family still makes fun of me till this day eventhough i havent had a red light ticket since like 2003.
As for the speeding tickets, i got a couple, and had like5 points. But now dont have any point and have clean record :)
For last 11 years no tickets no points.
I have interesting story to tell. Once in CA I was driving down to my home from one of my friends home around 2 am. I was not speeding , I am a very defensive driver. So it happens that I was going through yellow light and it turned red before I could cross the intersection. A few blocks down I saw red flashing lights in my rear view mirror so I stopped the cop come and says good morning sir , I said good morning to you too. He asked me do you know why I stopped you I said yes back there before I could cross the intersection the light turned red. In CA it is a law , I knew about it. So he said I was watching you , you were doing fine , I would have let you go with a warning but there was a car in the intersection that is why I have to give you a ticket . I said sure my mistake I have to face it. So he writes a ticket hands it to me and says , you have a nice night I said you too.
After about a week I got a letter from the police department stating that they had taken that ticket back. I am sure nobody heard anything like that ever. My good driving habits , my good driving record and my politeness all were a factor to that. And it all happened before 9/11, they were different times.
After 9/11 I have a traffic stop related horror story which happened to someone I know. I will tell it some other time.
doing anything below 130 on 401 is like reserving a place in jannat ul firdous for yourself, because the other drivers to the left right front and behind say sooo sweet words about you - so you have to keep up with traffic
just this evening, I had to go to toronto - urgent kaam thaa
made it to toronto (From home to destination in East Toronto - that includes traffic lights within city limits) in 1 hour 2 minutes (yeah I clocked it )
so i was averaging …
with occasional bursts of 160 +
on the way back - was a bit slow - an hour and 10 minutes
Gauteng Metro policeman pulled Sipho's car over and told him that because he had been wearing his seat belt he had just won R5 000, in an Arrive Alive safety competition.
Sipho could hardly believe his luck. 'What are you going to do with your cash?' asked the traffic cop.
'Well I guess I'm going to get a drivers license,' Sipho answered.
'Oh, don't listen to him,' yelled Dipuo in the passenger seat. 'He tries to be smart when he's drunk.'
This woke up Rodger in the back seat who took one look at the cop and moaned, 'I knew we wouldn't get far in a stolen car.'
At that moment there was a knock from the boot and Zakes' voice said, 'Are we over the border yet?'
The cop fainted.
