Speaking your mind vs. not

How do you ensure you’re striking a balance between speaking your mind while not creating ripples where power structures play crucial roles? So either at work, or with in-laws, with parents?

How do you deal with a micro-manager boss or MIL/FIL?

Would you ever address an ego battle with a micro-managing coworker who’s also training you (not in a position of power, but definitely influence) during your first few months?

I miss the paratha rolls from Khadda Market, Karachi. :(

Re: Speaking your mind vs. not

It's a fine balance, start slowly, drop a hint or two, express how about doing it this way etc

Assess their level of self-esteem, insecurities and scope of power; act accordingly. Poor self-esteem + greater number of insecurities + perceived power = least likely to be accepting of opinions or vocality. At work and within extended families, sometimes you have to align - not agree - just align.

Re: Speaking your mind vs. not

^what do you mean by aligning?

Re: Speaking your mind vs. not

it happens where your understanding has much developed with the other person, i dont waste time on expressing mind where the other cannot understand.

Re: Speaking your mind vs. not

Re: Speaking your mind vs. not

align ka matlab hota hai... ..align.
assertiveness, flexibility, respect and care for others feelings are imp things to remember.
Why would you start an ego war with a micro manager? Disagreements? I like pangas
