Re: speakers and headphones issue

I was checking my lap-top…I don’t even have that option of setting the headphones as default…I wonder if someone else knows…?

Re: speakers and headphones issue

If your headphone is plugged in then the software automatically makes it by default.

As for OP, have you tried system restore? That is the first go to place to reset your settings. Did you do something do your computer (i.e. hardware or software changes) or did it suddenly start happening? Usually, there is a cause behind what is happening.

It would help if we knew what laptop or desktop we were dealing with here.

Re: speakers and headphones issue

It hp pavilion windows 8, no it was doing all fine n the next moment both speaker and headphones started playing at same time , no hardware or software change

Re: speakers and headphones issue

ohh..you have windows 8…hmm…I have 7…maybe it is something to do with windows 8 then?

Re: speakers and headphones issue

I hate windows 8

Re: speakers and headphones issue

So what have you done? Did you try system restore? For future’s sake, partition your drive so that your files and even any important programs are on a data partition which allows a quick reinstall of your OS.

Re: speakers and headphones issue

yes I did, nothing happened :frowning:

Re: speakers and headphones issue

What kind of driver is it? Are you using realtek drivers or windows drivers? You can check in device manager under Sound. If windows 8 is like 7, there is an option that you can delete the software file when you uninstall it. Usually what happens is that your driver is still there even when you uninstall / disable the device.
