It has also been learnt that Scotland Yard will launch an inquiry in the next few days and it may also summon Altaf Hussain. The application contains four important charges that include:
**
-
May 12 killings in Karachi by MQM workers
-
Provoking people for terrorism

Scotland Yard may seek the assistance of Pakistani law enforcement agencies during its process of investigation into the cases against MQM chief Altaf Hussain, says chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Mr Khan talking to The Post on Monday said that the British police service Scotland Yard may seek the assistance of Pakistani law enforcement agencies if it is needed and will also keep in touch with the legal team of PTI in London during its process of investigation into the cases against Altaf.
When asked about the timeframe of outcome of PTI’s campaign against Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) chief,** he said that he could not give any timeframe as the Scotland Yard has started the process of analysing the data provided by PTI in this regard and hoped it would not take much time.
**
He said that the Scotland Yard would determine from the evidence whether ***MQM chief being a British national has abetted or taken part in any criminal activity at Pakistani soil or not in order to launch a formal case against Altaf Hussain, adding that they have provided sufficient evidence to the British police and hope that MQM chief would be brought to book.
About the nature of evidence provided to the British police by PTI, Mr Khan said that they** have handed over to the Scotland Yard all such data that could help the said agency in determining MQM chief’s involvement in terrorist activities on Pakistani soil from Britain.

To another query about more evidence regarding the cases against Altaf Hussain, the PTI chief said that he has received another file regarding Altaf Hussain’s crimes after his arrival in Pakistan from London, however he declined to comment on the details of the information and its source. He added that he would reveal the complete details of the information and its sources against Altaf Hussain when formal charges would be lodged against MQM chief.
PTI chief commenting on awarding the title of “Sir” to the notorious writer Salman Rushdie who passed blasphemous remarks against the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), he said, “The British government has shown insensitivity over the issue of awarding the title of Sir to such a person who has uttered blasphemous remarks against the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and it has hurt the sentiments of the Muslim community all over the world,” adding “The British government should have not taken such a step.” [The Post]
