Re: Speak Arabic shoya shoya...

When you think about it, learning Arabic should not be hard. It will take extra effort in terms of relearning some extra words and their various meanings.

Quran for instance comes with English translation; although no one word can be an exact translation from one language to another, but just reading Quran with translation in the local language can help learn words, their usage in the sentence, and their meaning. Baby steps, I suppose, but better than not knowing any arabic for those who are interested. For muslims especially, Quran is the encompassment of the best linguistic structure using Arabic.

Re: Speak Arabic shoya shoya...

exactly. I read Quran with tarjuma and tafseer in Ramadan since last 8-10 years and now most I can understand meaning of majority of the verses without going into translation. It takes 2 hours to go through 20-25 rukoo with translation enabling me to be attentive during Taraveh.

Re: Speak Arabic shoya shoya…

Sugar is sakar (shakar), tea is sai (chai ki copy), airplane (Al-tayyara), Milk (Laban), Water (Al-Maa’o), Money (Bi-zaa’at )

Re: Speak Arabic shoya shoya...

Re: Speak Arabic shoya shoya…

7= sab’atun ( Saba’a Sanabila wa Saba’a Baqaratun from Surah e Yusuf)
8= thaamaniyatn (Samaniyata Azwaajun from Sura e An’aam)
9= Tisa’atun (Tisa’ata aayatun of Hazrat Moosa)
10= Ashara ( Ashra e Mubashra)

BTW I was also confused about Laban and Haleeb.. In Sura e Muhammad, we read ’ Wa-anhaarun min laban’ and most of times it is translated as rivers of milk. :hmmm:
