Do you guys know what is the best way to cope with such spoofs?

I've been wondering the same thing. I've been getting spam mail from my old university account that I haven't used in years. However, my hotmail account recognizes it as spam and sends it to the spam folder.

Request your email administrator for a new email account sighting this issue. They will surely agree with you. If you do not do so , this spam mail will keep on multiplying because the spamers sell email address left and right.
Did you check where these spam e-mails originated from.........................
was it by any chance from this IP address?:
IP address of the sending party **: "Reliance Globalcom Services" their address is 209.120.226.126.**
^ IP address is different each time.
Right now those spams are almost stopped.
I find "Never treat mail from MyUni.edu as spam" rule to be more troublesome than useful, so I've removed it on my account and set the spam filter to be very strict and put all designated spam into AUTO-DELETED-SPAM.
Earlier regardless of the strict spam filter emails from my account were passed through because of the above rule.
Thanks for your help. :)
