Spain rules out taking direct part in attack on Iraq

So how many countries will actually join the US in attacking Iraq, apart from the UK?

Spain OKs Hospital Ship for Iraq but Won’t Attack

Spain on Tuesday ruled out taking direct part in an attack on Iraq but said it would send 900 support troops to the Gulf and a hospital ship capable of treating victims of weapons of mass destruction. Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar is taking a middle position of living up to his active support for President Bush on Iraq while remaining mindful of strong anti-war sentiment at home. “In the case of a military intervention, Spain will not participate in attack missions or (those) of an offensive nature. As a result there will not be any Spanish combat troops in the theater of operations,” Aznar told parliament in a long-waited announcement on Spain’s military role.

Why Malik, do you think they will need help? I think not, next question.

You did during the first Gulf war, and now only one or two countries are prepared to help when dozens once did. Even the pro-US is not prepared to help you attack Iraq, which is very telling indeed.

This is more like a "coalition of the unwilling". :)

The more important question is who (if anyone) is going to pay for the "reconstruction".

Iraq

Not the US - just look at their "reconstruction" efforts in Afghanistan. Zilch.

Military only believes in destruction not reconstruction. As malik pointed out, what efforts have been taken to reconstruct the demolished Afghanistan?
US has yet to include the cost of recontructing Afghanistan in its budget (correct me if im wrong). Will they include the cost of reconstructing Iraq in the budget? The impoverished nations that are supporting this war certainly wouldnt be able to. Who will? The irrelevant United Nations?
