what i dont understand is if muslims have the sense to see this as wrong which it undoubtedly is, why do they have similar laws in many muslim countries? hardcore countries like saudi wont grant citizenship to non-muslims even if they live there from birth to death.
Muslim countries as far I know do not give incentive of citizenship to convert to Islam.
Citizenship based on religion is different than citizenship based on conversion.
Even Muslims do not get citizenship of KSA and that is an uncommon occurrence.
even moderate muslim countries like malaysia make it criminal for ethnic malays to be of any faith other than islam.
There is no such thing as compulsion in Islam.
Please provide proof for this.
It is wrong for anyone to make it criminal act for being non-muslim.

Nothing more dangerous than converting to another religion from Islam when you live in a country where the followers of "religion of peace" are a majority.
Passing on false news even without any bad intentions is a sin and thus we are encouraged to do ALOT of research and find credible sources. This is a news item and its impossible to do scrutiny of each and every item in that detail, when connected material from various sources as to attempts of Spanish church to conversion is available.

Also you posted two other links with dubious sources to back up your claim when someone doubted the credibility. And there was no may or might in those articles. This is what it said.

i believe even the migrants to Germany would belong to the religion they'd have claimed, in any case one can't do anything if a person can trade his religion for a piece of paper. If a person does something like this he would be answerable for his deeds.

come on. That was a news and you can find more news on church's determination to conversion. Its beyond my scope to go behind authenticity of each and every news item, when a news was coming from more than one source. Its not what if scenario, it was about what if the news is correct.

Not necessarily, one huge part of Pakistanis considers a minority as non-Muslims, but for immigration to Germany they gladly claimed to be from minority... yes they will be answerable to Allah for what they did, the same applies to those who adopt Christianity for immigration.

The logic you are trying to apply here would only make sense if they would claim to be non-Muslim (Eventhough they think they are not) for immigration purposes, which they do NOT.
Mind you, you forgot to mention what the minority has to go through in Pakistan that some of them decide to leave the country...
