Space or underwater?

random thoughts at mid-night…i wonder do u think space will be our next frontier…will humans inhabit space centers..will we have to put on gravity boots to walk around some free floating building in the middle of space. what the heck will happen to internet and TV then, will we communicate across galaxies. and if not will those that are really far off develop radically different then us..so much so that they wil have developed thier own culture and own looks. will they even look human, i mean who knows right depending on where u are in space…maybe u will have wierd gravitational pulls that will make your body saggy or wierd chemicals that will make your forehead lok wierd or you will end up with one eye! who knows…

and if not space…then do u think we will move out to the moon, or perhaps even mars!! I suspect mars would be a bit more accomodating then the moon, since the moon is so small i wonder if we will need to have really all building to fit all of us…and if we do have really tall building will they look like the jetsons? will we need flying cars…or cars that travel vertically on buildings …b/c the building will be so tall that instead of an elevator u will need to take a train all the way up…what the hell will we eat! yuck…we will become so unorganic…dont u think!

and what about making dwelling underwater. ppl dont think of that…but i think that might work too…but poor dear the creatures under water who though they were safe from us humans and our pollutants! but what if we need to do that… i think that would be the coolest…except i would feel bad for the under water creaturs. but u know how they say that we were all once fish..but then the fish crawled onto land and developed legs etc and became amphibians etc… what if the species now go backwards u kno…b/c the world due to the ice at the poles melting witll be under water…or so they predict..maybe animals will develop gills and retreat back into the water..and develop fins and tails…maybe horses will become a wierd kinda huge sea horse type…oh my gosh …who knows maybe human beings will develop fish tails too…who knew the little mermaid was actually not a fiary tale but rather was predicting our future!!!

though i say most of this in jest… i am still curious about what thoughts this random midnight post my evoke…

Re: Space or underwater?

Farwah,
a v. different & nice topic.
training in science and enfineering will be pre-req rd in both.

grounds on under water bed is for sure something to explore. acquatic life is full of diversity. living there can cause a problem, as we would need oxygen under water.

space - i am unsure of. i like to feel the ground under my feet. if i were to be dangling free-standing, up, up in the sky, whewwwwwwwww, i wonder how it would feel.

but how nice would it be, that human activity had not destroyed the earth in the first place.

Re: Space or underwater?

hmmm :k:

Re: Space or underwater?

That feeling is almost free. Just jump off a building.
Usually 6 storeys/sec (depends on what you had in breakfast).
Of course you wont get another chance, so you can find a higher place for a longer sensation.

"And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it."
I love that quote Ihtesham

Re: Space or underwater?

stop reading too much sci-fi...

Re: Space or underwater?

i am shocked at the lack of response this thread has recieved!!!

i mean its about our survival as a species only!!!!!

space or underwater!!! wouldnt u rather be a part of that discussion now, rather then have to settle for whatever other ppl decide. I am really truly feeling that though i personally would love to live underwater, perhaps even develop a tail....like the little mermaid! and maybe have my own singing lobster!! i will def, go veg. then, i think it would be much harder to kill a talking fish i have just shared my life story with...i mean can u imagine...going oh yea so what do u think i should wear today...and then being like oh well time for dinner i will be eating you!!1

hahah...anyway i digress...the more important point being...while i myself would love to live underwater, i personally think it would be only just sooooo good for our broken and bruised palnet, if some human beings, preferally the ones from western nations, who are hell bent on destroying our environment, and exterminating all people who are different, to leave th eplanet and live in space, on mars perhaps. i think it would be great for all concerned, i am not saying all ppl in the west are racist bigots, but the few handful that are, i just think those war mongering idiots should just move to mars, i mean then they can be by themselves, and up there, they can have the whole planet to themslevs to do as they wish!

Actually all war mongering evil ppl who can not respect this planet and its species and appreciate nature, and feel the need to stick ugly huge monstrous steel structures into our ground and chop off our loevly trees, well all of them should move to mars....no trees there :D they can live happily ever after

Re: Space or underwater?

nope, here i am, i want to bury the WHOLE world in Arabian sand. and sit on top of it!!!
in breakfast i had 6 bannanas' skim milk shake with chocolate syrup in it.
u can tell, i am way more out there in the demay land.

i am that anguished right now.

cheers

Re: Space or underwater?

that sounds really good actually! dushi, bananas and choclate syrup umm.....
... u know some whip cream on top yummmy...now what kind of icecrem cake batter ice cream...hmm...yea yum!!!!! maybe some chopped nuts

Re: Space or underwater?

It's not possible for us to make water our next homeland (Pun intended), the very reason being high water pressure. You cannot build home underwater simply because they won't be able to fight the water pressure all around. Shoul you build a huge floating homing system, I can see it work, but then it wouldn't be much different then being on a cruise ship, which won't last. WE will still be on land -be in underwater or floating over it. We can't escape natural disasters no matter what. Common sense tells you why the idea was rejected a long long time ago. I am just showing you the more scientific side of it. You are talking more sci-fi than science. Of course, we will evolve over time, but it will be millions of years before we can expect humans to develop a tail or any strong mutations for us to be able survive underwater. Let's face it, we won't be humans then.

I have no doubt we will be able to build a system to save our species and space will be our next homeland. That's probably where we came from, and that's where we intend to go in next few hundred years.

Re: Space or underwater?

Dimagh! i am so totally impressed! but are u sure under water is a no go! we must be from outer space, i have thought so too. I mean look at us, and all the other species living harmoniously with each other, and along we come. srisouly when we think of aliens thats exactly what we expect them to do to us...u know...take over make us a subservient species..we expect them to do to us, what we ave done to the animals and even plants on this planet now!

as for under-water...well i know of pressure but i was thnkig more like space stations but underwater. if our space stations can withstand the vacuum in space and still maitain thier shape and not explode and gett pulled apart then why can't we build under-water structures that will withstsand external pressures and retain thier shapes. I am imagining a dome under water! a domes that houses cities! ..... so an under-water station and the dome ...couldnt it be made of glass that can withstand water pressure....how do fish deep underwater do it!?! i dont think we should rule this possibility out! althouh again i would much rather human beings take off...just move to another planet.
