I have a space heater by my desk that I use on those very cold days.
Last week when I tried to turn it on, nothing happened.
Nothing…nada…zilch.
I don’t know what’s wrong and I want to fix it.
Anyone have any ideas?
It’s made by Honeywell and looks like this:
It is a few years old so there is no chance of warranty return or repair.
People are saying just throw it out but I hate resorting to just buying new when something breaks down. I want to at least try to fix it.
I would love to see injeenier sahab fix this over the internet.
If not, it will make a cute decoration piece.
It’s hard to part with things you have become used to.
You never find a replacement as good as the item you had before.
Also if this space heater cannot be salvaged, maybe it can be converted into a nice space helmet for trick or treating next year.
no…the display does not show anything when the unit is plugged in and I attempt to turn it on.
nothing comes on.
no display, no fan, nada.
TS…this has nothing to do with parting with something that I have become used to. It has to do with not wanting to send another piece of electronic junk to the recycling yard. I prefer to fix things than to simply buy another piece and contribute even more to the world of living in excess.
well if you prefer to fix things, did you open it up yet? clearly the power supply unit is broken if the lcd display doesnt come up. it might be the fuse. open it up, find fuse, replace with one of same rating. close it all up.
you’re right.
it’s already broken…what further damage can I do to it?
I’m gonna check what tools I need and just bring them in to have a look inside.
I was just hoping someone might have had a similar problem and could have saved me some time by telling me whether or not to bother.
