Anyone have good (or bad) spa experiences to share? (im not talking about facials/manis/pedis. Im talking about body treatments, jacuzzi’s, massages, mud wraps etc. are you intimidated by them at all?

I once has a facial where she gave me a 'free' massage. I tell you, I didnt think women were allowed to touch other women like that.

Its the whole other people looking at you and touching you that bothers me, but im the same with Doctors and nurses. I guess at the end of the day, its their job. But could you imagine what they talk about to their co-workers?!

just like miss mohabbat said, i m also the same way...someone touching me ....just freaks me out...so no, i haven't been to a spa....i had facial only once too...
i feel uncomfortable with doctors too...specially when i m alone in the room with them...wierd, eh?

I tend to go quite a bit cos of the job i do(fitness instructor)...esp for the full body massage cos i train a silly amount i tend to b very sore and stiff. The 3 of the best spas ive eva been to are
(1) Luxury Health Spa in the British Virgin Islands in the Carribean. It was incredible cos it was by the sea and it was so tranquil.
(2) Mandrin Oriental Hotel in Central London. They have an incredible spa there. Went there last yr and i intend to go again a few days b4 my wedding anniversay.
(3) The Sanctuary in Covent Garden. They had a lovely swimming pool and jacuzzi.

I’ve gone for full body massages loads of times … never really had any problems.
I would love to try one of those mud baths soon. Mmmmm :love:

I love massages but i have never gone for jacuzzi/body treatments at a proper spa. I have a gift certificate to a nice spa and im kinda intimidated. should i expect people to be walking butt-naked around me?

I went to this place called Etheral in North Jersey -
I had a wrap, massage, facial, mani and pedi - it was a present.
I loved it all!

Yes I was supp to get a pedicure but I accidentally got put into the massage room. it hurts, Im not doing that again

Hehehe sorry but that made me laugh. So what if they do walk around bum naked, you dont need to look or do the same! I doubt they will though.
The staff are usually really really nice in spa places, mostly fake barbie nice, but you wont feel uncomfortble.
When the woman was feeling me up, I giggled till I cried and she didnt say anything, not even afterwards when I apologised for being a muppet. You'l be ok.

lol. No they wear robes..or at least theyre supp to. And the massage rooms are one on one..so no one else will be there

I’ll be going to Bliss Spa in a few weeks for something. Their website makes everything sound so wonderful (of course)..and wheN i called them, the woman I spoke to was very nice and talkative. So far it was alright> When I actually go there, i will tell u all abt it. On the website, there’s even a FAQ..

i like spa treatments, it relaxes you, there is one close to my ex job, couple of hours and you're relaxed and fresh and they massage your face and head, its good.
