Soy milk

Ok, so lately I have been feeling this discomfort drinking regular milk, so I am thinking to make a switch to soy milk. Anyone tried it? How does it taste like?

Re: Soy milk

Soya milk has come a long way from its yesteryears, nowadays you have various brands and flaours and tastes much better, and I would suggest try few before you settle for one, because I found different ppl have differnt taste prefernce when it comes to soya milk. I personally like so 'good brand' and I like chocolate flavour.

Another healthy alternative to soya milk might be almond milk or rice milk. Again all depends on if you like ther taste, I couldn't develop a taste for rice milk, and my mom couln'dt develop a tase for almond milk. Almond milk is not like badan milk you make at home.

You can find all these in health/organic sections of superstore/loblaws/fortinos/longos etc. (there we go organic again :):))

Re: Soy milk

my cousin, who is studying to be a nutrionist, told me that soy milk has a lot of estrogen in it...so make sure ur men dont drink it too much...

Re: Soy milk

^hahahah, naah, will keep the men in my house away from it. Actually, I am sure they will never touch it themselves.

sbb614: hahah way to go in connecting with the organics ;)

Yes, I have seen the SO brand - will give it a shot. I have tried almond milk and that is so not for me!

Re: Soy milk

actually Soy Milk is not that great for females as well in larger quantities as it contains elements that mimics your body's estrogen and can throw your hormones off the charts (IF you are sensitive to it)....something along the lines that it sends false signals to your body that there is enough estrogen thus the body does not produce any estrogen thus the hormonal whack--- That's from a Naturopathic Doctor. So I would not recommend adapting it long term.....

Brand-wise there is also "Silk" organic Soy Milk :p

Re: Soy milk

^yes, I understand that but I don't think drinking one glass or two a day is going to affect hormonal balance.

So, I just went and got some "SO Good" and yummy, it is actually very good :D

Re: Soy milk

Good for you, I think moderation is the key, but do read up on it, there has been a lot of focus on estrogen related issues with soya in news lately. But chineses and other far east nations have used soya bean curd for very long time now not sure why is this an issue now. I need to dig in a bit more.

Re: Soy milk

gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooodddddddddddddddddddddddddd milkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

Re: Soy milk

lol, I see I am not the only fan. I am almost addicted to it - drinking it like water - someone stop me!

Re: Soy milk
