True...but not compelling. One could arguehat had the Russians not been so keen on supporting the Serbs, and had the Balkans not been so close to Europe, the latter two would have went the way of, say, Rawanda.

South Sudan is interesting in that a nation state is being pressured into break up...it's not necessarily dying of natural causes. I erred with East Timor, as it wasn't a part of Indonesia. Indonesia was in fact an occupying force. Which of course, brings in Palestine...:)
