Re: South Boston (Southie)!
^ don't get it.
Re: South Boston (Southie)!
In time of irish famine , the nation just survived on home grown potatoes . The famine was caused initially by potato blight, an oomycete that almost instantly destroyed the primary food source of many Irish people. Most of these deaths were the result of famine-related diseases rather than starvation. Another one million people are estimated to have fled as refugees to Great Britain, the United States, Canada and Australia during the same period. Still Guinness and spuds are the only home made products, rest of othe products are either imported from UK or rest of europe But they can afford it now , as after Jappan , Ireland is the second richest country in the world .
Re: South Boston (Southie)!
What is so unique about Ireland is that Ireland's population is only 3 Million
And yet there are 40 Million Americans of Irish descent and globally there are 60 million Irish.
Re: South Boston (Southie)!
