England are having a really good tour of South Africa
Won the 4-match test series 2-1 (though collapsed miserably to 101 all out in the 2nd innings of the 4th test)
And now leading the 5-match ODI series 2-0
scored a mighty impressive 399/9 in the first ODI
There are two 2 T20Is as well
Butler has been in really good form with the bat. scored 105 off just 76 balls in the first game and was instrumental in today’s win as well (48* off 28 balls). England chased down South Africa’s 262 total with ease
well played England. failure of Amla and AB de Villiers in the last two games have been the key in losing two games that i've watched. de Villiers played well today though.
Interesting. When End wins vs South Africa, well played England. When India beats any team, Flat track bullies (not directed at GA but at Espn cricket media and commentors)
'Flat-track bully' applies to both Asian and non-Asian players.
for instance there was a Q mark over Rohit's ability to perform outside of IPL and esp. outside India but he proved his critics (incl. some indians) wrong with his recent batting displays in Australia.
I was critical of SA's performance in India too. They looked clueless for the most part when playing against spinners. England failed the spin test against Pakistan in UAE.
The true test of a sportsman is how well they perform when they step out of their comfort zone.
That is why Tendulkar was great. And I think more than Kohli, Rahane fits into that category. And of course Murali Vijay. Who plays spin and pace with ease in India or abroad.
