While movie soundtracks are easier to get a hold of and search for, a tune featured on any show on the telly is almost impossible to identify, and even worse, to look for in the www jungle. Reason being the stuff doesn’t usually come from mainstream artistes, and more importantly it gets nowhere near the exposure movie soundtracks do.
I’ve seen a lot of guppies inquiring about “that particular tune” from whatever show, and it’s not always a successful search. So how about a thread dedicated to the same, a central point to inquire/exchange info on “that-tune-you-loved-but-could-not-identify”. (I’d actually even request the mods if they could sticky-note this thread as it’d be good resource; what say you?).
Anyway here's the tune that kicked my idea for this thread (in addition to Nadia_H's) was from yesterday's Simpsons on Fox. It was the episode when Homer forms his own private security thang (SpringShield), and takes over Chief Wiggum as head honcho.
The tune was from when The Mob are strolling through springfiled at noon- goin to gun down Homer. That's a nice hollwood-ish sequence, and and even more brilliant tune. I even remember something similar from a few movies, but can't put my finger on it. Anyone with info?

np Nadia_H, no need to apologise or anything. yeah I figured it'd be a good idea if ppl on the board would have a central point to discuss those-lost-tunes, since it's a FAQ that pops up quite often. ah well.
aho, good idea MehnazQ, I did check out HMV and Sam the record man, but all they had was "Christmas simpsons boogie" and other corny pg-rated titles. Basically complete songs that were composed for the series. The tune that was played in that episode has been featured in some movies too, I just can't recall which one(s). gracias.
My wife has downloaded Friends' ("I'll be there for you") ringtone in her cellphone. The problem is she picks the phone so late, now :-(
