you see the yellow question marks next to "other devices" and list of devices under that ... that is your problem ..
Yellow question mark means missing driver.
you have multimedia audio controller driver missing ..
right click on multimedia audio control and see if the drop down menu gives you "Install Driver" option ..
go for "automatic install" option, lets see if that works
otherwise try this
TLK i couldnt find Everest Home Edition on the website you gave me .... where exactly is it ??
go to this link, this is the link to your laptops drivers. you should be able to download your drivers from there
you may need to put your laptop serial number to get all the drivers

I can help you out, visit logmein.com install temp. file and I can take over your comp. to fix it.
Secondly you can always do a "SYSTEM RESTORE" to about 2 weeks ago when everything was working fine. It won't delete any .docs, jpegs, etc.. but will delete any program that was downloaded/installed.
