Soul Mate

Re: Soul Mate

You can be soul mates and not be in a relationship with 'em.

Re: Soul Mate

But you have to be friendly with your Soulmate and isnt it friendship the best relation you can have :clown:

Re: Soul Mate

doesn’t it come naturally? after all he/she is your SOUL-MATE.

Re: Soul Mate

not really, you can realize the connection without being friends.

I personally think it is a wishy washy defination. There are many people who have deep and natural affinity with us, they can be our friends, lovers, mentors and other people we meet in your life. I guess it becomes "million in a one" question when talking about love. Do people meet milion people before finding their one? No, so it is not like that if a relationship does not have a happy ending, it is the end of the world or one should give up that they will not find someone who will understand their life, point of view and feelings.

Moreover, does only with one person not negate the concept of polygmy?

You cannot just find "someone with whom one has a feeling of deep and natural affinity, friendship, love, intimacy and/or compatibility." They are discovered, it is not like one day you will be at coffee shop, street or party and that "soul mate" will come to you. I think we pay so much attention of finding someone who can compliment us that we forget and forgo the person who is willing to understand us and has better qualities that we did not know about.

Relationships, one way or another, are meant to be broken. The best relationship you can have is with yourself. A promise that no matter what happens, I will take care of myself. I will stand up, I will move on.

Re: Soul Mate

Well said, MWAP.

I remember reading a book way back on the same topic: soulmates. It was a kind of extensive study, a research thing full of loads of of such instances where even a 61 years old lady married somewhat 23 years old guy terming the thing as soul mating. So yes, seems as if people believe, and believe it fair enough to write books on it. What my take on it is that it might be just as rare as one in one million. Most of us mistake this soulmate thing with whoever we fall in love with, but just as soon as we are disillusioned, i mean thrown back on the street of reality, we come to know how vain it was, and we were. I believe the concept is true, even if its utopian. lol.
