Sautan is the Hindi word used extensively in Urdu. never heard of Sokan.

KKF, I kinda remember that Deputy nazeer Ahmed ( Mirat ul Uroos) and Thanwi Sahib (Behshti Zewar) used word ‘sokan’ in their books.

probably. sautan ke liye ek aur lafz bhii iste’maal hotaa hai…any idea what that word is?

some of the words (Da’in, ChuRail, Jadugarni, etc) mentioned above. You tell us some more

really? wow!..i’m surprised. may be ab shaayad yeh lafz matrook ho gayaa hai kiuN k maiN ne kabhii kisii se nahiiN sunaa. wallaho aalam.

**i just asked my brother and he said yes…Saukan is a Hindi word as well and was used by older generations…like the generation of my grandfather. **

sotan or sokan whatever, in our society mostly considered as satan.

Sokan,sutan tak tu theek tha mager ye **Satan **Ka word tu kaprey ke liye use huta hai satan ka kapraa
