8 games is a little too harsh.
Here you got players ball tempering twice in 12 months and they only get suspended for 2 games.
Looking at Sosa's past repuatation, he should have been let off.

true. his other bats came out clean. still he got suspended, but has appealed
this should be taken seriouisly. his bats should be x-rayed and analyzed.
The guy was roundabout 170 lbs. when he started out in the league. Guess just ballooning to 220-odd isn't enough to hit all thos dingers.
New lesson to kids: Steroids only won't get you far enough in professional sport.
He's too valuable a commodity to be punished. There'll be no serious reprimand in his case; an average ball player would have already left for the minor leagues.
