Once Pakistan used to be the world champion in atleast 4 sports in the world including the likes of Cricket,Field Hockey,Squash & Snooker…
Now Pakistan is resting at the bottom in almost all of these sports…
What do guys think the reason behind this fall???Sport bodies,policies or the players???

Hockey - we (and India) started going downhill once astroturf became the only standard playing surface for international tournaments. Gora nations had the money to build many many artificial grounds, we did not. The nature of the game changed because of the new surface - not the original field hockey anymore. So our kids do not grow up playing on astroturf and we have many fewer kids to choose from than pre-astroturf days. Of course meddling politics plays its role too.
Squash - we had no backup of talent to follow the great Khans (Jahangir and Jansher), Here the fault lies with the authorities who run the sport.
Don't know anything about snooker.
Cricket - the less said the better. All want to be prima donnas, the wimps.
we have other problems that we need to solve before we even think about improving our sports.. we need good job market.. we need food and shelter for needy.. we need doctors for hospitals.. we need to stop corruption .. we need to produce excellent quality leaders..
once we have that.. we will have good infrastructure for sports automatically.. :)
