makes me wonder why we take desi totkas for granted? Terressential is selling creams formulated with the very desi totka ingredients that urdu women’s digests have been churning out for ages and makes $$$ on them.

The cosmetics you use are pretty insignificant compared to what's in the junk you eat. You'll be amazed at how chemically "enhanced" food is.
