Yeah they’re there, but fact of the matter is most of the Pakistani immigrants at least in the USA are still aam se aadmi.
They still manage to muster the money to buy something nice for their wives once in a while, evidenced by the bling bling at the masjids - even the burqa wali’s sport designer and nothing less (Because that’s why we show up to the masjid, to show off our beemers and our pradas). But generally, Pakistani muslims mostly fall into the middle class of America, which currently is being crunched like peanut butter and their money is being squeezed to pay off Wall street screw ups, and as of late, we’ve taken up stealing from Teachers (cough, Wisconsin) to give back to businesses (tax cuts).
Most Pakistani men are not CEO’s. They may be small business owner’s, but they’re not sitting on piles of money that are that big.
But it’s relative. Some of them probably do feel rich, if they originally were from poor families in Pakistan.
I digress. The point is, that if girls think they’re going to marry into Prada, you’re not getting that with most Pakistani men. Not including the black money that’s out there, if you want a halaal income, and to be able to afford big designers as a lifestyle (I’m not talking about, oh I got one designer back in 5 years, because I saved up for it), then Pakistani men in general are not the trees you should be barking up. But somehow, a lot of girls out there have these fantasies that after marriage, they’re just going to have a bling lifestyle, and fact is, they end up working their arses off along side their husbands helping them run their small businesses, etc.
Easy there tex, I didnt know this discussion was limited to Pakistanis only, I was talking about ‘gold digging’ in general, it exists outside the realm of Pakistanis. Yes, most Pakistanis here might not be like that, but the educated ones that went to good schools here and are career oriented (chosen lucrative paths) are easily making 6 figured salaries, which is honestly is pretty good for a luxurious lifestyle.
