This has to be the best halwa I’ve ever cooked and served. It’s ready is no time, usually you have to bhoon sooji for such a long time. Anyway, here’s ho’chi with her camera :o

Recipe.
Heat a cup of butter with some green ilaichi. Fry 'em till you smell the ilaichi
Add one cup of sugar and bhoon on medium heat till sugar has caramelized / golden brown
Add one cup of sooji and bhoon again. You gotta be fast here, else sugar will get outta control
Add half or one full cup of shredded nairyal, bhoon again till oil separates.
Add one cup of milk if you like and bhoon again till you get the right ‘look’.
sabah baji..this is off topic..but i have to ask this..i love channay ka halwa but i hate the ghota part of it..hath dukh jatay hain..koi easy tareeqa pata hay kay ghotnay wala part disappear ho jaay? thanks.
I'm not such a fan of sooji halwa, but my mom makes it frequently for my dad. I like 'mu-khadi' halwa with desi ghee .. only once in pakistan did I eat it at my khala's place, it had to be the best I'v ever eaten.
Q, I've never tried channe ka halwa. But it must be like haleem, el-blender and haath ka ghoota hua tastes and looks different. Usually when I have to ghoot something I try overcooking it phir its all okay.
FG jee aap sara le lo, but stop this torture, please.
Saadia, I can make that one too, but like with everything else I cheat with mukhandi halwa as well :D If you drain the milk it takes more time to bhoon and it's trickier to handle, so I always forget that part :o
