i am planning to buy a t series from sony. i have read some good reviews on it but i am wondering if any of you guppies have a sony notebook ?? and how is your experience? my main question is about the warranty. i have a dell notebook and their customer service has been great during the period it was covered under warranty. fortunately, i have never had a problem after that.
sony offers an onsite service with accidential protection plan. is it worth it? also circuit city recommends you to buy THEIR protection???
anbody had any experience with sony notebooks so far?
I have a Sony Viao GR or GRT series .. dont remember exactly the model ... my wife is using it for a while .. never had any problems at all, great notebook.
I have the Z1 series. I have used Vaio laptops for a few years and I haven't had issues with them. For laptops I would use them anyday, plus Thinkpads ofcourse. If the laptop works for the first year (manufacturer's warranty) then I don't think you should have a problem. Unless ofcourse if you are a very heave user and traveller so if the laptop burns out or u crap it out you can get coverage with extended warranty with the seller, otherwise for normal use its a waste of time. Ofcourse u may decide to buy a floor model or something then its worth it to get it.
I was never in favour of a SONY laptop and never will be; untill someone gifts it to me :halo: I think a Dell or a Compaq is a cheaper alternative. If you’ve got the bucks, then go for a Toshiba or an IBM .. lovely, tough machines :k:
DS _ why do u prefer vaio!!! bata toh rahi hoon VAIO siraf aik DHOKA hae!!!
NOS - warranty hae but amreeka mein dukaan hae
soch rahi hono dost ko bhejoon amreeka takay woh sahi karva le
AND MEIN ITNA MEHNGA LAPTOP BINDAY K TOR PE USE KAROON???
nosssssssssssssss choroon gi nai is gustakhi ka badla le ke rahoon gi
i narrowed down my search to two laptops: x40 from ibm and vaio t series. my main priority is weight. both of them weigh about 3 lbs. however, ibm doesn't have a built in dvd drive, no touch pad. also, i don't feel like spending 3k on something which looks like an ibm. i have seen vaio in a store and it looks very promising. i am planning to buy a 4 yr warranty which would include accidential coverage......there are lemons in every brand...just make sure you don't end up with with one..
IBM T42 is :k: .. titanium casing bro … and its sleek .. you can get a DVD writer in it as well … and in ANY case … its 10 times better than a SONY .. sony is the other name for CRAP
I've had it for over a year now. More like 1.5 years now and it's running smoothly, alhamdulillah.
The only issue I have with my Toshiba satellite is that when it gets heated up or something, the fan goes on really loud. Ie. you can hear the fan very loud and that annoys me. Other than that, it's great, alhamdulillah!
As for Vaio, never used one, but would love to get my hands on one if it isn't too ugly.
