Like it or not, these culture and language issues and concerns are for developing countries. Nearly 300 children died in Thar this year but PPP is still in the business because of being vocal for culture and language.

Now this is going in political direction. We should not mix up the issues for the sake of it. Issue in Thar would have been there, if even there was complete consensus on languages issue in Pakistan. These problems continue because we don't make parties accountable for our sufferings. Bringing same parties / people to rule is just not a phenomenon in Sindh.
If I agree to your point about PPP, then you should not forget that PPP can not bring up the matter of language and culture like other parties (nationalists) can do. Apart from that how come, PMLN be chosen in Punjab again and again, while it has not delivered in majority areas of Punjab.
There has been so many heating debates on this forum. Are you saying issue does not exist in real life? Kamaran conduct a show in Sindh and asked people about BB assassination etc. People were replying as Punjab is ghaddar they killed BB. According to some poeple, it is because of oppression of Sindh by Punjab. In last year even PPP's chief minister has declared Federal govt biased for doing injustice to Sindh and not releasing fund for them.
There is nothing like multi cultural thing in USA, as for as I know. All the cultures are merged into one. Anyway, taking Food and Clothing as case, could you tell me the differences among the states?
Simple answer: Fear sells. Fear is an absence of all other emotions and thoughts. When you keep those people afraid, and they will never grow the intellect to think or feel anything else. It is mind boggling to think that when you can't even provide your own people with fundamental right to education, health, food and justice, but somehow you still have those people adoring you and idolising you and willing to have you ruling you? How?
You strip them off their dignity, you dehumanise them by enabling such vicious and systematised control over their freedoms and rights they are entitled to, yet you don't foresee any faint possibility of rebellion and backlash? How is that even possible? Of course, it is possible. You feed their minds and soul with xenophobia. You tell them that if they get rid of their current masters, they'd be faced with outsiders who'd be worse than them as they would neither speak their language or belong to the same ethnic group. You don't inspire people by empowering them with progressive ideas, you arouse their emotions by making them feel like endangered species. You make them feel under-attacked. You tell them that their culture is in danger, their language is in danger, their ethnic group has been wronged and still being preyed at by outside forces. You simply the word to them by gifting them with a sense of infinite sense of ethnic victim complex. It's all very much primitive tribalism. The good old politics of survival. Sometimes you wonder why the politics of xenophobia often appears like a hallmark of contemporary Sindh whether you are talking about Urban and Rural Sindh.
All this PPP propagated BS that Punjabis robbed them of everything only makes them look like nasty clowns. These people just had five years of complete Federal rule, ask them what did they do for Sindh in those five years. Ask them why there is corruption of Rs. 62.8 billion in just one year of (2012-13) Provincial budget? This must be the fault of Punjabis as well.

Is this the issue with Sindhis only?
I didn't want to come up with this, but now let me say 'why Pakhtuns voted a Taliban apologist, when they were killed by these monsters'. Is it what called political maturity?
What change Punjab saw in last election after 5 years of suppression by PMLN, who just gave them lollypop of Metro bus project (as per PTI)?

Nope. It is not even an issue in developed countries. Scotland has to be the only country in the world which was literally offered independence on a platter without spilling a single drop of blood, gun fire and baton being unleashed on either side. A glorious revival of Scotland's culture and heritage was embedded in their independence campaign, yet half of Scottish people rejected independence over the idea that economy matters. This is the difference between civilised nations and countries where demagogue leaders become od sent saviours by pulling the ethnic cards.

Pakhtoons also elected Sindhi feudals, Punjabi oligarchs, religious parties and home grown nationalists. What are you trying to prove here? They've given every evil a chance, that's what democracy is all about right, you basically just pick the lesser evil? Pakhtoons were certainly right in ignoring the propaganda and going for Taliban apologist that is is under his rule that women are Jirga members and commandos in police force, and terrorism has reduced down by 50% through effective policing.

This is why the within 1.5 years of coming into power half of Punjab was on the streets to get rid of them. Country was on the brink of Civil War like situation because there was a popular rebellion in Punjab against the government. It's unfortunate that only beautifying Lahore helps sell PMLN well.
Do you it was the same Punjab that distributed sweets and came out on the streets to celebrate when an Urdu speaking General kicked PMLN out? It's a fact PMLN gets elected because of the criminal network it has built in all over the province, not because of ethnicity. When was the last time you heard Shahbaz Sharif crying about Punjabi language or roots? Both brothers are Kashmiris for crying out loud. Shame on Punjabis for falling for outsiders, innit?
I'm enjoying seeing you defend PPP's 45 years of rule in Sindh. Who would've thought?

I would say people of those areas are ignorant. Now would you accept that people of your province are also ignorant and are falling for ethnic cards?

yes, this is what i was trying to say that only developing countries have these type of issues. There has been several conflicts in even india due to ethnic differences. People in developing countries countries are sensitive for nothing but for their ethnicity. No priority for education or other stuff.
There is no doubt of being their ignorant, because they give a second chance to those who mocked their wishes and ignored their agitation against dual local bodies ordinance and that too within six months of such agitations. Short memory

Ji Bhai Ijaz Ali what I meant that in USA we have the Irish doing their St Patrick Day Parade, plus you have the Native Indians celebrate their Holy Days, and us Muslims blocking traffic every Friday in large cities like New York! and twice a year on Eid Days.
actually in large corporations like Boeing they regularly have multi cultural exposure programs sponsored by the Companies which tell us about the different cultures that our fellow employees have!
*so essentially the whole purpose of this activity is to appreciate other cultures and be able to live and let live!
*
telling you the reality who is trying to be concerned about people of Sindh by belittling their attachment with their roots.
Nope. Just trying to take a real piss out of politics of xenophobia that keeps these feudals in absolute power.
Of course, I'm not Sindhi, how can I possibly ever have concerns for the people of Sindh. It is not humanly possible. So don't worry, I'm not trying to put any act here.

You better not. yahan baRe baRe uss attachment ko nahin samajh sake, aap ke bus ki baat nahin, because unfortunately you don't have that exposure.
From onward, I'll not discuss anything with you about Sindhi language as you really don't want to understand attachment of Sindhi people they have with their language, for you its a lost cause.
I don't think I ever denied that ethnic and lingual cards don't sell in Sindh. Of course I understand, I understand far too well. You don't need to explain me anything.
Last time I checked on these forum, constitution is supreme. Our constitution states supremacy of Urdu as national language. All Pakistanis must bow down to that. Pakistan is a democracy. Parliament is also supreme and Pakistanis must also bow down to that as well. All kinds of 'struggles' and 'agitations' are pure evil. Sindhi feudals had ample time and full access to highest authority to get their Sindhi language the official or whatever status the local desires (in their own province that is!). What is the worst that can happen if those people stop playing the politics of xenophobia in the name of love for their language? People might start demanding food and education?
Instead of yearning to bring the good old centuries back, it's time to confront and acknowledge these realities - the change in our times. Cultures are not static, they evolve with time.
In my opinion you people were supposed to evolve and adopt to sindhi culture in the new country , instead of sticking with U.P-Bihar identity which now are parts of india........that would have been pragmatic and realistic approach
