This is very normal in Pakistan . If you have friends with their parents as some higher official in government / Army then you’ll know what I am talking about .

He is not driving a fancy western car, rather an eastern economic car, but otherwise I agree with you that they should be given even more khatara and smaller engine cars.

Yes, I think its a japanese four door sedan, which is sold widely in west as well, still its fancy and expensive according to south asian standards......they have to be given standard 800cc suzuki cars
The questions shouldn't be what type of car is given...why is the car given in the first place. This nonsense is costing taxpayers huge sums..... No where in the western world are by that matter developed economies is a civil servant given a car. Where I work, its huge even if we are able to get a parking spot for free. Hopefully, one day pakistan get a leader, who will stop this....

This is British system I believe where employees are given such facilities instead of paying higher salaries. Benefits like free telephone line, few servants at home, driver etc.
What I meant by my comment is presently the civil servants in the west, are paid less then there peers who work with private companies. Aside from a good pension plan, there is no real other good benefit. Why must a country which is heavily under debt, give out cars to civil service or military personnel for personal use. It would be much cheaper to give a higher salary, then to have have a whole group of people just managing the "benefits".... I have a lot of other gripes concerning pakistani civil service, but I'll leave that for another day.
