Now I was doing groceries this morning.
As the weekend is the time when everyone wants to stock up on edibles, so there were a lot of people inside the store. Finally we finished and got into a que at the check-in counter. There were about 10 people in front of me, with OVERFLOWING carts . That meant at least 7 - 8 minutes for each person. Somehow we inched our way forward getting itchy by the minute. I was so freakin mad that I just wanted to push my cart away and walk out
Anyhow, I closed in on the cashier, with just one person in front of me (and now about 15 standing behind me) . The gentleman in front was just standing there with his hands in his pockets as his stuff was scanned. Finally his cart was empty and it was time to pay. Now he very casually checks one pocket, then the second pocket, no wallet. Then checks his coat - no wallet. Asks his wife for the wallet. She starts fumbling into her purse and after about 2 /3 minutes they finally found his wallet. Then he takes out one credit card and asks “How much?”
The cashier replies something and the stupid guy says “Oh - I would rather pay cash” So the wife again takes the purse off her shoulder and starts the search process again - now they were trying to get the exact change
I dont know how I controlled myself and I could hear curse words from behind myself too .
Why cant people have the CASH or CARD ready BEFORE they reach the cashier.
Is that something that is too difficult to do. Why cant we be considerate …
or another thing that annoys me is those aunites that carry their little change purses with them, and they'll stand their searching for the exact change. like 57 cents. for cripes sakes just give the cashier 60 cents or a dollar!
(yes, yes, i know that some of our OWN mothers do the same thing :D)
