Something i saw on Tv-during hajj

Ok so when i was watching the Hajj on TV (may Allah SWT grant us all the opurtunity to visit that blessed land) i noticed that whilest the hajees were in Medina Almunawarah and they were praying the grave of the Prophet SAW falls behind them. So they are standing with their backs towards it!

Surely this could have been avoided out of respect!

just saying!!!

Thoughts?

Re: Something i saw on Tv-during hajj

They were praying facing the Qibla, if the grave happens to be at their backs so be it. It is simple as that. Why do we muslims have to make a big deal out of nothing?

Re: Something i saw on Tv-during hajj

im not disputing the fact facing the qibla is more important!

Like i said its just showing some respect...Us sub continental muslims usually attribute not showing your back as a mark of respect you see!

Re: Something i saw on Tv-during hajj

^ bhaijaan, us subcontinent people mix culture into religion which is not a good thing and sign of disrespect to the religion:). It is just a grave, saying your prayers facing Qibla is of more importance. If your back is towards the grave of Muhammad:saw: or your family member it does not matter on iota and should not even be considered.

Re: Something i saw on Tv-during hajj

Well the Prophet SAW himself said He is just a man!!! I was only talking along the lines of Him being the best of creation surely warrants some respect!

Anyway it was just an observation... thanks for your input Brother!

Re: Something i saw on Tv-during hajj

^ ditto.

Re: Something i saw on Tv-during hajj

So what exactly will you have them do? Not offer Namaz because their back is towards his grave? I do not get it? Respect for what? Muhammad:saw: has passed away and the grave is just the place of his burial.

Re: Something i saw on Tv-during hajj

Ditto for whom?

Re: Something i saw on Tv-during hajj

ditto for youm me thinks!

Re: Something i saw on Tv-during hajj

the Prophet's (saw) grave is located in a corner of the mosque....
and there is only one corridor that passes on the side where the qibla is....
and usually ppl r not allowed to pray there....
except ofcourse when it is completely full and there is no other place to pray....

it wud be a greater problem if ppl started praying facing the grave hence the authorities have made a library in that space....

Re: Something i saw on Tv-during hajj

Peace bro

Tum Sahih Bola :)

Re: Something i saw on Tv-during hajj

I agree!

Re: Something i saw on Tv-during hajj

***You have raised a very important point here....................

One thing Rasul Allah (PBUH) warned all of his followers was that he was afraid his followers would pray on his grave like the Prophets before him were treated by their followers.

Initially the Roza Mubarik was outside the Masjid Nabwi, it was the growth in the Masjid that eventually encompassed the Roza Mubarik.

In my opinion those who let the Masjid encompass the Roza Mubarik were not heeding this warning.

Masjid could have grown towards the Qibla independent of the Roza Mubarik but somehow they did not want to move the mimber where Rasul Allah stood and gave Khutba..........hence the growth went backwards from the mimber thus encompassing the Roza Mubarik.

However if you visit Masjid Nabwi today you will notice that the original Mimber is now behind the new Mimber.
