I think making laws that dont infringe on the rights and sentiments of all religous communities is fair and secualr, its only when the govt begins to pick and choose when secular govt is threatened. If you make laws solely for benefit of Muslims, that wrong, but then if you did the same for all communities within reasonable limits, thats fair.
There is no reason why killing cows shouldnt be banned. If the Indian govt can go out of their way to defend Muslims sentiment, Muslims in India should be willing to do the same to accomodate the Hindus.
India should allow the import of Beef under a licence sysytem like Pkaistan has for minorities who want to purchase alcahol. Muslims should apply for licences to import beef.
