WOW…why do you need to know?
Let’s first explain that wet dreams are not the same as masturbation. Masturbation is consciously and actively done while wet dreams come unconsciously and usually a person has not a direct control over them. The general Islamic ruling regarding masturbation is that it is Haram because it is a concerted effort to release sexual needs in a different way than the way Allah Almighty has recommended through marriage. Beside, masturbation, especially when it becomes an obsession and very frequent, has physical side effects and makes the ejection (not the erection) premature while a man is having sexual intercourse with his wife. This is of course not a desirable result for a man to complete his sexual desire too soon while his wife may not have been fulfilled yet. However, Muslim scholars have reduced the prohibition of masturbation for what they call the ‘Shabik’ person, or the person whose sexual arousness is very high and fears to commit adultery, in case masturbation really reduces his needs. In that case, he may masturbate only if that helps him, and only as needed under the following conditions: 1-that he is truly unable to get married, 2-to masturbate only when he is sexually aroused, 3-not to be obsessed or to do it frequently, 4-that he doesn’t excite himself through masturbation, i.e., if he is not excited, he shouldn’t masturbate and excite himself, and 5-he should be aware that masturbation will actually help him out in decreasing his sexual needs. Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi stated in his book: The Lawful and the Prohibited in Islam the following about masturbation (http://www.qaradawi.net): “A Ruling Concerning Masturbation The pressing need to relieve himself of sexual tension may drive a young man to masturbation. The majority of scholars consider it haram. Imam Malik bases his judgement on the verse, Those who guard their sexual organs except with their spouses or those whom their right hands possess, for (with regard to them) they are without blame. But those who crave something beyond that are transgressors, (23:5-7) arguing that the masturbator is one of those who “crave something beyond that.” On the other hand, it is reported that Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal regarded semen as an excretion of the body like other excrete and permitted its expulsion as blood letting is permitted. Ibn Hazm holds the same view. However, the Hanbali jurists permit masturbation only under two conditions: first, the fear of committing fornication or adultery, and second, not having the means to marry. We are inclined to accept the opinion of Imam Ahmad in a situation in which there is sexual excitation and danger of committing the haram. For example, a young man has gone abroad to study or work, thereby encountering many temptations which he fears he will be unable to resist, may resort to this method of relieving sexual tension provided he does not do it excessively or make it into a habit. Yet better than this is the Prophet’s advice to the Muslim youth who is unable to marry, namely, that he seek help through frequent fasting, for fasting nurtures will-power, teaches control of desires, and strengthens the fear of Allah. The Prophet (peace be on him) said, Young men, those of you who can support a wife should marry, for it keeps you from looking at women (lit., lowers your gaze) and preserves your chastity; but those who cannot should fast, for it is a means of cooling sexual passion. (Reported by al-Bukhari.)”!!!

Imam Shafi’i stated that masturbation is forbidden based on the following verses from the Qur’aan (interpretation of the meaning):
**"And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts). Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, - for them, they are free from blame. But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors." 23.5-7 Here the verses are clear in forbidding all illegal sexual acts (including masturbation) except for the wives or that their right hand possess. And whoever seeks beyond that is the transgressor.
"And let those who find not the financial means for marriage keep themselves chaste, until Allah enriches them of His bounty." 24.33. This verse also clearly orders whoever does not have the financial means to marry to keep himself chaste and be patient in facing temptations (including masturbation) until Allah enriches them of His bounty.
Secondly, from the sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him):
Abdullaah ibn Mas’ood said, "We were with the Prophet while we were young and had no wealth whatsoever. So Allaah’s Messenger said, "O young people! Whoever among you can marry, should marry, because it helps him lower his gaze and guard his modesty (i.e. his private parts from committing illegal sexual intercourse etc.), and whoever is not able to marry, should fast, as fasting diminishes his sexual power." Bukhari:5066. The hadeeth orders men who are not able to marry to fast despite the hardship encountered in doing so, and not to masturbate despite the ease with which it can be done.
Tell the believing men to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things) and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts, etc.). That is purer for them. Verily, Allah is all-aware of what they do. And tell the believing women to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things) and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts, etc.) ..... " 24.30-31**
Good Luck!
